Exams Finished!!! Back to Toronto in 2 Days...

So, after weeks of studying and stress, my exams are finally finished. It has been a little anti-climatic, I thought that I would have this amazingly free feeling after having finished, but instead I still have a sense of anticipation.

It's really funny, I check online to see if my grades have been posted like 3 times a day. Its really sort of neurotic I think. I sign on knowing that they haven't been posted, but out of anxiousness to see my grades go on anyways. I am really looking forward to seeing them though, hopefully they turn out as expected (Maybe i'll check know to see if anything's changed :-)

So I will be packing up for Toronto tommorow. I really don't have that much stuff, having lived for the past 4 months pretty simply. I've sold my laptop, speakers, turntables, etc. so I won't have any bulky stuff to bring with me. I can't wait to get back! To spend time with the family and friends before going on my adventure to outer space.....

It will be really sad to leave Montreal in some ways too. I have really loved my roommates this semester (see photo), although our relationship hasn't really bloomed until the end of the semester. I guess this is normal, as we got used to eachother we felt more free too express ourselves and get closer to eachother, but it is a shame that it didn't happen until near the end of our time together...

I still don't know where i'll be staying in Lille, although I'm not too worried about it. My plan is to find some roommates to share a space with. This would be great as it would give me a chance to practice my french at home, get to know some local people and hopefully have a much more active social life there. It obviously carries some risks, but as it will only be a 4-month stay, I am willing to take them....

Until next time!

Good friends, Good food, Good times.....

Last night was great! After destroying two exams on two hours of sleep, a group of good friends came over for some good food and conversation...It being the first time I've had friends over to my place, I was a little worried how it would all work out, whether there would be enough space, whether people would get along. I think everyone had a great time.

This little get together was also a sort of going away party for myself, as I will only be in Montreal until next Monday. It feels a little surreal to think that I will be across the world in just over two weeks and that I will be living on this other side of the world for the next 7 months!!!! Having no idea what to expect, I feel a little overwhelmed about the whole idea. This feeling is also due to the fact that I am woefully unprepared :) no visa, no apartment in France......I have a strange sense of confidence that it will all work itself out somehow.....hopefully it is not unfounded.

Anyhow, I've uploaded some pics from the jam last night for you all to see. (You all being no one at this point as no one knows that this blog exists....lol!!!

peace,
Ian
